WSP is currently initiating a search for a Geotechnical Engineer for our San Francisco, CA office. Be involved in projects with our Geotechnical & Tunneling National Business Line Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

  • Planning and conducting subsurface investigations and laboratory testing programs in soil and rock
  • Performing geotechnical analyses and design of shallow and deep foundations, embankments/cuts, and earth retaining systems for transit/transportation/water conveyance projects
  • Performing numerical analysis for geotechnical projects
  • Preparing geotechnical memoranda, data and design reports
  • Providing geotechnical support during construction

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering emphasis
  • 1 to 3 years of geotechnical engineering experience
  • EIT registration and ability to obtain CA PE in 2 years
  • Knowledge of Bay Area practices and California geology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel for field work

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using commercially available geotechnical software (i.e. Ensoft, GeoStudio, PLAXIS, Rocscience)
  • Knowledge of CAD and GIS systems.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $54,700-$108,200

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
