WSP's NSW Mine Closure Team are seeking expressions of interest to kick off 2024 with a role as a Civil Engineer! Based in Newcastle, you will engage in mine rehabilitation and closure planning and design, utilising your proven computer programming ability.

Our Mining team helps clients optimise performance, boost profitability, and operate responsibly. We have a comprehensive understanding of the mining industry and current issues including decarbonisation and understand future ready strategies are critical to countering these issues, capitalising on opportunities, and adding value to businesses.

What you’ll do:

• Produce drawings for landform design from concept to feasibility stage.
• Participate in programming using relevant systems (such as, Python).
• Conduct designs in-line with technical and commercial standards, while meeting project time and budget constraints.
• Prepare cost estimates for designs.
• Prepare and review technical reports.
• Manage ongoing communication and effective professional relationships with clients.
• Offer support and mentoring to junior engineers.

About you:

• Bachelor in Civil Engineering or other relevant degree.
• Extensive relevant experience of Civil Design Engineering, preferably within Mine Closure.
• Previous consulting experience.
• Experienced in civil design and preparing and reviewing drawings from inception through to construction.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience preparing and reviewing technical reports.
• Programming ability and experience in Python is ideal.
• The successful candidate will be a proven team player.
