Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or Business Administration.
    • In lieu of a degree, a high school diploma or GED and education and four (4) years of experience in progressively responsible and diversified technical level information systems, data processing management and technical experience in a large organization. Must have comprehensive knowledge and in-depth experience in leading implementation on any one or more of the systems: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Learning Management Systems, Customer Relationship Management Systems. Extensive development experience using HTML, CSS, PHP, .NET or JavaScript.
Experience

  • Seven (7) years of experience in progressively responsible and diversified technical level information systems, data processing management and technical experience in a large organization. Must have comprehensive knowledge and in-depth experience in leading implementation on any one or more of the systems: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Learning Management Systems, Customer Relationship Management Systems. Extensive development experience using HTML, CSS, PHP, .NET or JavaScript.

Preferred

Experience

  • Experience working in and knowledge of CRM, server management or web-based learning standards (SCORM, AICC) and development tools is a plus.

Job Summary/Duties:

The System Integration Specialist supports Metro’s Information Technology Systems and technologies applications. The incumbent leverages their comprehensive in-depth knowledge and leadership skills to implement the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Learning Management Systems, Customer Relationship Management Systems. The Specialist is responsible for system integration, implementation, customization and maintenance activities. The employee coordinates IT projects with Project Management, Quality Assurance and Quality Control, Risk Management, and Scheduling Staff. The Specialist plans, coordinates, procures, implements and monitors IT project activities in accordance with the Metro’s IT Strategic Plan. The incumbent evaluates, develops system architecture and functions across the Authority for potential automation. The Specialist provides technical applications support to users, which includes answering complex questions on function and usage of products. The incumbent investigates, manages, tracks and closes support issues, specifically related to the database and functions of applications. The employee also provides training to users and performs application upgrades.

Essential Functions

  • Leads and participates in the planning, coordination, solution design, development, and implementation activities related to the enhancement and integration of applications and technologies within the organization’s application environment.
  • Interfaces with other offices to ensure commitment in supporting or using the Authority' s integrated system. Consults with and informs user departments system requirements, resolution of problems and operating difficulties, future enhancements and modifications.
  • Leads problem resolution related to system design and implementation reviews and recommends approval of functional and technical design documents, implementation of systems, program enhancements and modification to assigned applications.
  • Prepares or assists in the preparation of scope of work, project proposals, or requests for proposals to buy, revise, or design and install application systems.
  • Represents IT at meetings and leads consultants and contractors; coordinates with transportation agencies and other stakeholders in assigned systems.
  • Provides input and monitors expenditures against project budgets.
  • Coordinates plans, procures, implements and directs the activities of the IT projects in systems development for four key areas: Project Management; Quality Assurance and Quality Control; Rick Management; and Scheduling branches within IT.
  • Provides leadership based on best practices from all offices, exercises a keen understanding of strategic priorities and the ability to anticipate the Authority's IT requirements.
  • Ensures the administration of a Quality Control program for migrating properly validated development to production of new systems and enhancements to existing systems following the approved standards.
  • Keeps abreast of current developments in the field of Information Technology; develops innovative and imaginative solutions to a wide range of applications to promote a leadership position in the field.

Other Functions

  • Prepares and presents oral/written reports/recommendations within the areas of assigned responsibility.
