What you’ll be doing...
Our Point of Sale (POS) applications enable us to sell to customers through a huge variety of channels. You’ll be part of our VCG Technology Team, responsible for Assisted Sales channels and touchpoints, high-volume preorder/backorder portal, web and native app development, front end and backend programming. In addition, you’ll join the core team that’s developing and promoting DevOps and Digital First adoption across various sales and web service applications. We’re pushing ourselves to be more nimble and efficient as we redefine the retail landscape—and you’ll play a meaningful role.
Leading a team, planning and reviewing their work, plus removing barriers and solving problems to help them be optimally productive.
Creating the software vision for Assisted Sales Channels (Retail, Indirect, and Contact Center Sales touchpoints).
Developing responsive web and native applications for Stores eco-system.
Developing highly-available applications and service stacks in production environment.
Providing architectural oversight for systems and services.
Understanding Customer Journeys across Sales touch points and use Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI and Agentic AI to solve complex business problems.
Contribute to platform engineering initiatives to enhance quality, innovation, and efficiency.
Establish and implement development standards to ensure all applications are high quality, secure, and perform well.
Cultivate a strong engineering culture by implementing agile practices. Define and track meaningful metrics to measure success.
Leading the people and setting the team priorities that support Organization's broader goals. Establishing clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role, meeting regularly to discuss performance, provide feedback and coaching.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders by providing excellent service.
Collaborate with external vendors in global delivery model.
Work effectively with other teams, share best practices, and drive successful cross-functional projects.

You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Software development experience in a diverse set of areas including scalable and responsive web applications, native app development, reusable and extensible frameworks.
Experience in diverse technology stack including Java/J2EE, Spring Reactive, Micro-services, React JS and Micro Frontends including experience leading multiple technical teams in such technologies.
Understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) landscape including Generative AI and Agentic AI to drive purposeful innovation and building solutions for Retail and Stores eco-system.
Experience in managing large applications and delivery of multiple projects in the development space by providing technical leadership.
Proven experience in leading Software projects/development teams.
Experience in leading software development teams encompassing the responsibilities including performance management, employee engagement, training and career development.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
A master’s degree in Business, Computer Science or Engineering.
Experience in designing and implementing technology solutions for Retail and Store ecosystem would be preferred.
Experience triaging/handling high pressure customer end user/requests.
Experience with performance tuning, scalability and availability.
Experience in a DevOps and implementing Digital First initiatives in the software development environment.
Experience migrating web applications to AWS Cloud.
