What you’ll be doing...

You’ll be leading the sourcing process for Core Devices, where we spend billions of dollars per year. You will establish and execute sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, negotiation, risk management and supply base performance management. Our purchasing power combined with your skills and expertise will help us maintain our market-leading position. Come play a meaningful role in driving continuous cost savings and revenue generation.

The role involves

• Collaborating closely with key business partners to understand their priorities and challenges; assess their needs on an ongoing basis; and manage their expectations

• Partnering with our business stakeholders to develop and implement category & sourcing strategies

• Driving all aspects of complex strategic sourcing process

• Responsible for negotiation planning, building RFx’s, and contracting with suppliers, ensuring that agreements reflect Verizon’s needs globally

• Developing category savings roadmap and maintain and track savings

• Responsible for executing supplier relationship management activities, effectively maintaining positive and ethical working relationships

• Leveraging market dynamics and mitigating risk

• Balance short- and long-term objectives to meet business strategy and efficiencies in alignment with business stakeholders

• Supplier rationalization – leverages existing supplier base to appropriately consolidate products & services

• Strong leadership abilities with a proven ability to engage and influence collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders

• You will also be expected to take on additional projects as needed to support business requirements

What we’re looking for...

You understand the consumer devices market and its market trends globally. Because you are a master relationship builder, external suppliers see you as an invaluable partner and internal clients see you as a trusted advisor. You have no problem prioritizing multiple simultaneous projects and you’re no stranger to tight timelines. Balancing the intersection of cost, efficiency, and quality, you expertly negotiate the best outcomes for all parties.

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

• Experience in strategic sourcing with knowledge of strategic sourcing processes, policies, and procedures, experience in managing consumer devices is an advantage.

• Experience in negotiating, cost management practices and driving change and transformation.

• Experience working in a fast-paced matrixed global environment.

• Self-motivated /self-starter with experience and ability to work independently and in a team.

• Analytical and/or technical experience with strong attention to detail

• Strong presentation skills with experience in preparing and presenting across multiple organizational leadership levels

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• MBA or Business degree in supply chain, business, or marketing. Experience within the circular economy of consumer devices

• Experience within a carrier or consumer devices OEM role

• Experience in managing consumer devices is an advantage
