The Finance Organization
At Verizon, we are building a world-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization. We have begun a comprehensive program to streamline processes, improve systems, realign the organization and add opportunities for personal skill-building and professional growth. FP&A Field Finance Market Team
Move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. The local market facing positions offer opportunities to drive better business partnering and insights, while growing your FP&A leadership and interpersonal skills. You are considered a business partner and your contributions will make a difference to achieve our targets by driving sales, owning the customer experience, maximizing marketing and investing in the team.
This position will report to the Atlantic North Market Senior Finance Director within the Field Finance organization of the Verizon Consumer Group. This team is embedded within the Market leadership team to develop a deep understanding of the trends and patterns within the market to identify and execute on opportunities to drive growth.
Responsibilities
Dedicating support for the Indirect Channel within the AN Market.
Working with the Indirect Senior Director and Directors to support the Agent Partners within the market. This includes master agents target allocations, Indirect Director quota allocations and communication of targets to agent owners and indirect directors.
Evaluating business results and providing guidance and insights to the Sales Leaders regarding performance.
Performing in depth analyses of performance trends, including budget variance of financial results and Key Performance Indicators to identify areas of risk and opportunities and provide recommendations.
Continuously monitoring, adjusting and refining the AN agent channel reporting portfolio to best serve the needs of the business.
Additionally:
Partnering with Field Finance HQ team on targets
Coordinating and collaborating with Field Finance BI team on reporting.
Finalizing monthly analyses of trends and budget variance of financial results and KPIs to be used in management reviews and strategic business analysis sessions..
Identifying and communicating possible scenarios, associated risks and opportunities to include in the business performance reviews
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or four or more years of work experience
Six or more years of relevant work experience
Project management experience
Ability to effectively interact with senior leaders
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
A Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).
A high degree of analytical capability with the proven ability to structure business case around a high-level strategic vision.
Strong strategic skills, with the proven ability to identify and assess key points, implications and recommendations.
An advanced understanding of corporate financial planning, reporting & analysis methodologies and processes.
Demonstrated in depth understanding of common business and cost drivers, financial statement analysis, and deep-dive analysis.
Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management.
Strong analytical, investigative, problem solving and decision-making skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail
