What you will be doing...
The work you'll be doing is to support mission and business-critical applications within Verizon. You will be enhancing the customer experience and building a world class solution. You will be helping in doing the below.
- Designing and implementing Cassandra data models and schema.
- Developing high-performance Cassandra-based applications using Java, Python, or Scala.
- Writing efficient Cassandra queries and optimize data retrieval.
- Implementing data migration and integration strategies.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate Cassandra with other systems.
- Troubleshooting and optimizing Cassandra performance issues.
- Ensuring data consistency, availability, and partition tolerance.
- Staying up-to-date with Cassandra advancements and apply new features.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
What we’re looking for...
We’re seeking an experienced Cassandra Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable and high - performance Cassandra-based systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, expertise in Cassandra, and experience with distributed database systems.
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.
- One or more years of experience in Cassandra (Apache Cassandra or DataStax Enterprise).
- Excellent understanding in Programming languages (Java, Python/Scala) - Cassandra drivers and tools (cqlsh, Cassandra-driver) .
- Experience in Data Model, model designs, Typedef, CQL.
- Exposure to Oracle BRM, ADF, SOA, Rabbit MQ, Data Power.
- Good Understanding Distributed database systems and NoSQL concepts, Data modeling, schema design and Query optimization and performance tuning in Cassandra.
- Experience in SDLC and Agile Development.
- Experience in building/deploying applications using Git, Maven & Jenkins.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- A master’s degree.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Knowledge of Cloud Services Architecture.
- Experience in telecom domain
