Position Summary

The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago, a leader in Emergency Medicine innovation, is seeking a highly motivated Physician to join an established leadership team as a full-time Assistant, Associate or Professor. The candidate will join our department in the role of Director of Clinical Operations for the UI Health Emergency Department. Our department strives for excellence in time-sensitive care as well as significant contributions to Social Emergency Medicine; with a commitment to diverse patient populations and multidisciplinary engagement that empowers care of patients and their communities in the State of Illinois.

The position as Director of Clinical Operations is a leadership role within the Department of Emergency Medicine and UI Health.

This position will:
· provide leadership, operational and management oversight of the Emergency Department located at UI Health
· focus on clinical and service operations to ensure the ED care delivery model achieves high quality emergency care and evolves to meet the needs of our patients, department, hospital and community
· implement & evaluate short- and long-term strategies to improve through-put metrics, care pathways
· collaborate & effectively communicate with key stakeholders across the UI Health System
· ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation and licensing standards
· represent the department at the UI Health System level for all clinical operations
· represent the department in the re-design and expansion of the UI Health Emergency Department

Minimum Qualifications

Some research experience and good writing skills are desired.
