Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Associate Director of Member Services & Business Administration, provides administrative duties as pertains to student employment, student development and member services. Main liaison between Campus Recreation and Student Affairs Human Resources and the Student Employment office.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Administrative Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and supervision to the Membership Coordinator Main liaison between Campus Recreation and Human Resource departments.
- This position is responsible for providing day-to-day oversight of administrative and operational functions to support campus recreation student hiring processes.
- Assists with the management of the student performance evaluation process to ensure proper performance expectation and evaluation processes are conducted.
- Provides assistance to staff on issues related to student employment (payroll, recruiting, hiring through handshake and other workplace inquiries).
- Maintains personnel files, department organizational chart, staff lists and directories.
- Oversees the day-to-day process of hiring and termination activities for temporary and student workforce; handles payroll activities; ensures timecards are completed and approved by established deadlines.
- Communicate with prospective student employees on hiring process.
- Submit hiring documentation to Student Affairs Human Resources via TDX ticketing system.
- Assist the Associate Director of Member Services with any member services related concerns and Administrative duties as assigned.
Staff Development
- Coordinates and schedules the onboarding of all new staff through university and departmental orientation programs.
- Coordinates off boarding, processes and conducts exit interviews.
- Plan, organize and manage the student staff professional development program.
University and Community Relations
- Promote the Campus Recreation program to all university and community members.
- Serve on any departmental or university committees as assigned.
- Represent the Campus Recreation unit and the university at events, meetings, clinics, and conferences as designated.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a field related to the position.
- Two (2) years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work experience.
(NOTE: A Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
