I. DEPARTMENT INFORMATION
Job Description Summary: | The Center for Community Resilience (CCR) partners across business, community, philanthropic, advocacy, public education, health and social sectors to support communities in adopting policies, programs and practices that address adverse childhood experiences in the context of adverse community environments—the Pair of ACEs. Known for its rigorous academic and social science research and explicit focus on equity and prevention, CCR has garnered attention for translating public health science into real time systems and policy change by centering community voices, integrating service delivery, and building political will for change. Housed within the Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University, CCR is widely known as a trusted thought partner and public health innovator among major foundations, national public health organizations, and federal public health leaders. The Policy Director, CCR will report to the Director of the Center for Community Resilience. In this role the Policy Director, CCR provides strategic policy guidance and is responsible for government affairs coordination that advances the Center’s mission and goals with federal, state, and local government levels as well as federal and state agencies. The CCR network comprises more than 15 teams across the country and the Policy Director oversees advocacy strategies and technical assistance to support the national network. Work is generally performed in the CCR offices located on GWU’s Foggy Bottom campus. Work may involve travel and overnight stays at least 3-4 times a year. Other tasks that support the Center’s portfolio include:

Minimum Qualifications: | Qualified candidates will hold a Master’s degree plus 5 years of experience or a PhD plus 2 years of experience in a related discipline to include at least 2 years of research and/or college level teaching in a field basic to the work to be performed. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. |
