The laboratory of Dr. Norman H Lee is hiring a Research Assistant. The lab studies the genomics and molecular biology of cancer progression and metastasis using genomics, molecular, imaging, and biochemical techniques. The position requires assisting with laboratory experiments at all levels of analysis. The core responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to genomic, molecular, biochemical and immunohistochemical analysis of patient specimens, along with conducting in vitro assays on cancer cell lines and organoid cultures, including but not limited to proliferation, invasion, apoptosis, Western blotting, and flow cytometry.

Additional responsibilities may include animal handling, colony maintenance and organization; development of mouse breeding strategy; lab maintenance and organization; animal preparation and surgery; xenograft histology; microscopy and analysis; and data analysis.

Duties Include:

This position reports to the principal investigator and is not an independent scientific position but the successful candidate will participate in multiple levels of experimental design. Depending on the candidate and available time an independent research project can be assigned. Work time is generally standard work hours but occasional weekends and evenings are required as experiments demand. Some flexibility for hours is possible once trained. The position is on-site.

Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BS in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
