I. JOB OVERVIEW
Job Description Summary: | The Compliance Officer, Research Security will play a key role in ensuring institutional compliance and research community support related to the areas of research security and foreign influence. This will primarily be achieved through assistance with: the development/revision and implementation of related policies and procedures; the creation and/or provision of relevant training/education, advice, and resources to faculty and staff; the development, oversight, and management of, as well as the record-keeping and communication tools associated with, the GW research security and foreign influence compliance programs; and the monitoring of federal laws, rules and regulations that pertain to research security and foreign influence. This position will collaborate with a variety of GW offices, including the Office of General Counsel; International Affairs; Sponsored Projects; Facilities Planning, Construction, and Management; and the Information Technology. It will also work as needed with outside consultants and liaise with the respective government agencies in an effort to aid compliance with all relevant regulations and requirements. Specifically, the Compliance Officer, Research Security will be expected to:

Minimum Qualifications: | Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |
