Security Administrator, 3rd shift Sunday-Thursday

We are looking for a Security Administrator to join our growing team, working a 3rd Shift, Sunday - Thursday schedule. You will play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of our facilities in Rensselaer. In this position vital to the safety of our operations, you will perform security protection duties including site access and patrol, conducting investigations, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
Please note this will be a Monday-Friday 1st shift 8:00am-4:30pm position for approximately 4-6 weeks for training. Working hours thereafter will be 3rd shift 10:00pm – 8:30am Sunday-Thursday.
As a Security Administrator, a typical day might include the following:
Greeting and processing all people entering the site, including new employees, contractors, and visitors; verifying credentials while maintaining a professional demeanor, preparing and issuing security badges and parking permits.
Patrolling the buildings and grounds on bike, foot, or vehicle to ensure physical security and life safety protection
Responding to alarms and calls for security assistance
Providing security escort as needed
Administering the Security Access Control System to ensure the correct individuals are provided access to restricted areas
Partnering with area owners to create access groups for their respective areas and to ensure appropriate access is maintained
Advising on security procedures and practices, which may include assisting in the development and/or implementation of policies
Monitoring electronic protection systems including alarms, CCTV, fire, elevator, and intercom
Investigating and following up on incidents that compromise the safety and security of the site as advised by Management and/or Human Resources
Discreetly handling critical and confidential information and preparing associated reports
Responding to emergency situations (e.g. fire, medical, confined space, hazmat and personnel related issues) and contacting the proper authorities when necessary
Organizing and carrying out emergency drills related to site safety and security as advised
Leading special projects such as conducting security audits and developing risk assessments for audit findings, developing and delivering security training programs, planning and organizing traffic control programs and initiatives, monitoring international security incidents and impact on travelers
Providing guidance and direction to contract security staff as needed

You must be able to work 10:00pm - 8:30am Sunday to Thursday. Applicants should ideally have an AAS Degree in a related field with the following minimum years of law enforcement, military or security experience:
Security Administrator I: 0 years or HSD/GED with 2+ years of related experience
Security Administrator II: 2+ years or HSD/GED with 4+ years of related experience
Security Administrator III: 4+ years or HSD/GED with 6+ years of related experience
Level will be determined based on qualifications relevant to the role.
