Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, located in Sleepy Hollow NY, is seeking a Manager, Tax Operations and Tax Technology. In this role you will report to Senior Director of Tax Operations in support of Regeneron’s overall tax initiatives through preparation of financial statements, tax returns and other compliance related tasks.

This position is based at Regeneron's Corporate HQ in Sleepy Hollow, NY, hybrid work 3 days / week onsite. It is not open to fully remote work

As Manager, Tax Operations and Tax Technology a typical day may include:

  • Tax Accounting under ASC740: Reconciliation of tax accounts, preparation of corporate tax provisions (book and tax) and preparation of income tax disclosures for publicly issued financial statements.
  • Corporation Income Tax Returns: Manage corporate income/franchise taxes, including tax return preparation process supporting schedules and other analyses, as required. Responsible for accurate and timely filing of all returns, extensions, estimates and payments of taxes, as applicable.
  • Develop, implement and maintain existing and new tax technologies into the current process leveraging tools such as Alteryx, CoPilot, AI, Power Query and other technology tools
  • Development and enhancement of Senior Leadership analytics and visualizations leveraging tools like Microsoft Power Bi.
  • Manage state and local tangible property tax returns and other business filings in which an obligation exists to file.
  • Analysis of Tax Legislation Updates: Monitor on a regular basis potential law changes from a Federal, State, local and non-US perspective to prepare a memorandum on a quarterly basis to discuss the impact and ensure proper compliance and reporting on our tax returns and financial statements.
  • Tax Credits/Incentives: Manage all aspects of the credits including the Research & Development tax credit, Orphan drug credit, other applicable federal, state, and local tax credits and incentives, including obtaining and maintaining appropriate supporting documentation and preparing supporting schedules.
  • Tax controversy: Responsible for supporting the Director of Tax Controversy on all federal, state, and local tax audits, inclusive of gathering data to prepare responses and providing updates to key partners.
  • Internal Controls and SOX Compliance: Responsible for ensuring that (i) properly operating internal controls exist, are tested, and are adhered to in functional areas under this position’s purview and (ii) associated internal control documentation is prepared and/or updated on a timely basis.
  • Interface directly with tax, legal, finance, accounting and business functions on all tax accounting and compliance matters
  • Software/ERP: Responsible for tax software and ERP integrations for purposes of preparation of tax provisions and tax compliance

This Role Might Be a Fit for You if You Have:

  • Experience with systems and tools in support of project work, including Hyperion, Oracle, MS office
  • Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry
  • Strong project management skills; highly organized and detail oriented

This role requires 7 years of proven experience in a role requiring similar skills in Tax, with an undergraduate or graduate degree in a related field such as Finance or Accounting (concentration in Tax a plus). Public Accounting and/or in house Tax department experience a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

Salary Range (annually)

$113,100.00 - $184,700.00
