“My favorite moment is when a previous supervisor recognized my potential and asked me to consider becoming a supervisor. I was hesitant but her encouragement, belief in my abilities, and desire to see me grow, propelled me into becoming a leader. It changed what I believed was possible for me. If you are looking for a challenging work environment to leverage the skills you already have while building new expertise, NYU Langone Health is the place to be!”

NYU Langone Health has provided me with professional support that has allowed me to take on new career opportunities without fear. The camaraderie and incredible support among the team have given me the confidence and enthusiasm to take on new challenges. My manager and HR were very supportive when I wanted to grow into a different role. My current role, as a Research Scientist at the Dysautonomia Center, allows me to keep in contact with patients, while also getting more involved in project development, data management, and translational research. I have found tremendous support and respect at all levels within the organization, which is one of the many reasons why I feel so thankful to work here.

Senior Research Coordinator
During my final semester at NYU, I took a course working in one of the labs at NYU Langone. The first step I took into the building I said to myself, "Shirley this is the place you will be working for very soon." NYU Langone made me feel welcomed and at home. It’s a beautiful place and the people here really do make you feel like you’re part of a family.
Shirley C.
Administrative Coordinator
The internal opportunities at NYU Langone Health are a clear indication of how employees can trust the organization to recognize their achievements and support their growth. So many knowledgeable employees work here, and are eager to share their skills and experience. My direct supervisor is someone I hold in high esteem. I genuinely use her work ethic and quality as a compass in my own work. When I transferred to my new position, my supervisor took steps to help me grow and mentor me. Overall, the whole process was simple and stress-free. People can be confident their needs will be met here.

I started as an intern at NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn seven years ago and now work in outpatient rehab, treating patients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. I’ve helped develop the Communication Group at NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn so that patients with communication difficulties can interact with and receive support from each other. I am very passionate about seeing patients with neurogenic communication disorders and dysphagia achieve their goals after brain injury or stroke. There’s no better feeling than having a patient leave the room smiling with the sense that they’ve accomplished something!
