About the Role
Major accountabilities:
- Identify and communicate on key political developments affecting Novartis -Shape public policy and legislation by: prioritization of policy trends/issues in alignment with respective area; -Provide leadership for the development of Novartis positions on key issues and strategic country plans -Execution of the advocacy strategy where applicable -Ensure Novartis leadership in key trade associations -Identify and manage key business issues with a political component for assigned area -Design and execute product advocacy where applicable -Ongoing political stakeholder management (key high level government and other political, think tanks, NGOs or other relevant stakeholders in the assigned area) -Functional leadership by managing talent for the assigned area -Guide management and the team in political analysis of external trends and development -Role model and build a culture of being curious, inspired, unbossed -Reporting of technical complaints / adverse events / special case scenarios related to Novartis products within 24 hours of receipt -Distribution of marketing samples (where applicable)
Key performance indicators:
- Strategic fit and alignment of policies, regional and country political agenda with overall business strategy -Influence on associations/country policy agenda -alignment with NVS policy -Effective and compliant stakeholder engagement -Proximity and relevance to assigned business / area -Recognized contribution to product launches -Quality of PA competencies in the assigned area -Acceptance of policies by internal/external customers; recognition of quality -Evidence of creating inspired, curious and unbossed teams
