Summary

The Director, Disease Area Content Strategy & Training (CST), Field Medical will be responsible for delivering strategic content plans that equip the Disease Area, Value and Evidence, and/or Virtual Engagement Field Medical (FM) team(s) with the right resources and tools for engagements with Medical Experts/customers. This role is accountable to provide strategic input to the respective Medical Strategy Team (MST) team on disease and product/launch plans for Field Medical (FM) execution in collaboration with the respective Field Medical Leader(s). This role leads the strategic development of the external facing content plan and MSL training to support customer engagement and ensure scientific excellence and therapeutic competency for customer facing roles. Location: Remote: This position can be based remotely in US. Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager.

About the Role

Major accountabilities:

•Proactively identify field team needs and develop impactful disease state and scientific content strategies that differentiate Novartis products, beginning prior to product approval, through product launch and the product life-cycle management.

•Lead cross-functional interactions to strategically identify FM content needs and provide guidance to content creators (Content Development (CD) functions, Evidence Generation/Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR)) to ensure content supports high quality, compliant scientific discussions of Novartis compounds with customers

•Ensure that all external and internal resources and content for customer engagement are aligned with compliance guidelines and developed and updated to support FM and disease area strategy.

•Following content/tool approval, ensure content/tool availability and communicate clear and compliant content/tool direction/guidance aligned with FM WPD to FM associates as appropriate.

•Align with DSC, Evidence Generation/Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR), and MST/Compound timelines, for respective disease states and product responsibilities

•Partner with Field Medical Leadership Team (FM LT) to align on strategy and customer content and roll-out

•Shadow MSLs to observe use of tools with customers and gain customer insights to maintain a plan for continuous improvement and enhancement

Minimum Requirements:

· Advanced degree required; doctoral degree preferred.

· Medical Science Liaison experience required and other Medical Affairs experience recommended.

· Minimum 5 years pharmaceutical/Health Care experience required; field medical experience preferred

·Must have strong personal integrity and customer focus. Partnership and cross-functional collaboration/influence is vital.

·Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, strong personal integrity, collaboration abilities, and customer focus are vital with proven outstanding written and verbal communication skills required.

·Significant experience in project management, prioritization and strong organizational skills.

·Knowledge of clinical medicine, disease management, and medical research practices preferred.

·Solid understanding of multiple disease areas across franchise(s) preferred.

·US healthcare business and managed market knowledge preferred.

·Must possess a detailed understanding of the FDA, OIG, HIPAA and other guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry and to ensure compliance with these externals as well as Novartis internal guidelines and standard operating procedures (e.g., Working Practices and Ethics & Compliance guidelines).

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is encouraged to be between $201,600.00 and $302,400.00 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
