Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Physical Therapist – NYU Langone Orthopedic Associates ¿Garden City.
In this role, the successful candidate Provides appropriate therapy to promote the improvement of mobility, functional ability, and quality of life. Uses clinical expertise to plan the delivery of safe, therapeutic, and age appropriate care through examination, evaluation, diagnosis and physical intervention.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Performs an objective functional evaluation including appropriate tests and measures and establishes a plan of care with measurable and functional goals.
- Implements appropriate interventions treatment as indicated by the patient’s functional status, diagnosis, and age in conjunction with the plan of care.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and timely documentation reflecting the examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, plan of care, education and interventions.
- Interacts and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes and health care goals. Provides on-site clinical supervision to Physical Therapist Assistants and Rehabilitation Aides.
- Evaluates patient progress toward functional goals and modifies the the plan of care as appropriate.
- Provides patient, family, and clinician education regarding the patient’s functional status and plan of care.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor’s Degree Physical Therapy (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) approved PT program). Current and valid NYS Physical Therapy license and registration or limited permit. Current and valid BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association – Inpatient facility only. Excellent communication (both oral and written) skills. Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree Physical Therapy (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) approved PT program). Other Doctorate in Physcial Therapy (DPT) Physical Therapy (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) approved PT program). Current and valid BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association – Outpatient facility only. 1- 2 years Hospital (Inpatient) or Orthopedic (Outpatient) Rehabilitation setting. Experience in Neuro – Outpatient facility only.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $98,050.00 – $109,550.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
