We are seeking a talented and creative content writer to join our Communications Marketing and Government and Community Affairs (CMGCA) team to create content across NYULH’s far reaching and influential EDU sites. In this role you will craft compelling and impactful content that resonates with various audiences the site serves Your expertise in writing editing and strategic content creation will support driving meaningful engagement on EDU and elevating the NYULH Grossman School of Medicine brand. Reporting directly to the EDU Content Lead this position will help ensure that all content aligns with NYULH’s strategic goals brand standards and enterprise objectives. This position will play a critical role in NYULHs overall communication and marketing efforts providing a deep understanding of the content and copywriting efforts that help streamline workflow and deliver against institutional requirements
Job Responsibilities:
Content Creation and Development:
- Create compelling content for EDU that drives meaningful engagement among key audiences and builds perception of NYULH as a category leader
- Develop narratives and messaging that align with specific project goals ensuring consistency across all media
- Write clear persuasive and original content that engages and informs diverse audiences adapting tone and style to fit different channels and objectives
Collaborative Strategy Implementation:
- Work closely with the marketing and communications team to brainstorm ideas create innovative campaigns and develop strategic content plans
- Collaborate with graphic designers digital marketers and external agencies to ensure that the textual content fits seamlessly with visual and interactive elements
- Participate in creative sessions to refine messaging and enhance the impact of communication materials
Editing and Proofreading for Quality Assurance:
- Rigorously edit and proofread all content to ensure it meets NYU Langone Health s high standards for accuracy clarity and brand consistency Meticulously eliminate errors in grammar spelling and punctuation to ensure each piece is polished and clear
- Incorporate feedback from the content lead marketing team and stakeholders to enhance content quality Revise edit and redevelop campaigns based on audience engagement data working closely with the content creation team to align final products with campaign objectives and audience expectations
- Uphold the organization s brand standards and voice across all EDU initiatives ensuring a consistent tone and style Regularly verify compliance with legal and regulatory standards specific to the healthcare industry
- Contribute to the development and updating of internal style guides and editorial standards helping the broader team maintain consistency and quality in all communications
Continual Learning and Development:
- Stay abreast of the latest trends in content and copywriting digital marketing and healthcare communications to continually refine skills and approaches
- Participate in workshops seminars and training sessions to enhance professional knowledge and skills in copywriting and content strategy
Compliance and Brand Integrity:
- Ensure all content complies with legal and regulatory standards applicable to the healthcare industry
- Maintain the integrity of the NYU Langone Health brand by ensuring all content reflects the organizations values and mission
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field
- 1 year of experience as a copy/content writer or related role with a strong portfolio of written work
- 1 year of experience in content/copy editing
- Excellent writing editing and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the healthcare industry particularly within academic medicine demonstrating familiarity with medical terminology and the unique content needs of the sector
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 – $95,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
