Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Care Management Associate – NYU Langone Hospital – Mineola.
In this role, the successful candidate assists with the distribution of discharge notices to patients, and flow of information throughout the department. Coordinates department computing, software resources and department activities. Performs secretarial and clerical duties to maintain and support the department. Duties include compiling information, answering telephones, preparing reports, maintaining department accounts; coordinates, prepares and processes correspondence, Denial letters, agendas, general papers; Serves as a liaison with other departments and staff.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs a wide variety of secretarial and clerical duties to support and processes denial and appeal letters timely and accurately, from receipt through appeal submission. Enters all data steps and responses into database. Assists in the compilation of reports.
- Maintains calendar of activities, coordinates and arranges special events for assigned staff; coordinates activities and meetings with other departments andor outside agencies; coordinates scheduling, arrangements and sets up meeting rooms; notifies participants; prepares presentations andor assembles meeting materials. May take minutes, prepare manuscripts for publication.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Provides discharge notices and Important Message from Medicare to patients with explanation of patient s rights as directed by case management staff. Monitors Medicare patient admissions for compliance for a valid inpatient admit order and follow up with the physician of record to attain the same. Supports department with executing policies and procedure to support the organization’s compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Communicates with departmental staff, patient/families, vendors, facilities and payers. Screens and answers phones. Relays messages accurately and in a timely manner. Directs telephone inquiries appropriately. Ensures HIPPA is maintained.
- Assists in the preparation of monthly schedules for staff. May track various Personnel documentations (i.e. licensures/certification, performance evaluation completion, employee health status change Forms) for approval.
- Attends to a variety of office operational details such as ordering supplies, arranging for equipment repair, transmitting information, and keeping reference materials up to date. Distributes information, handles incoming and outgoing mail packages and other special shipments.
- Creates and maintains accurate and up-to-date electronic and hard copy files, records, logs, and specialized and or technical documents in accordance with the WUH s records retention management program.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School or GED. 1- 2 years Secretarial experience. Strong communication (both oral and written), multitasking, detail oriented, organizational, customer service, prioritization, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office ( Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook ). Knowledge of office procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate s Degree In a related field. 1-2 years Prior related experience in a health care setting.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $59,499.34 – $59,499.35 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
