Duties Description Under the supervision of the Deputy Regional Director or designee, the Park Recreation Supervisor (Regional Equipment Warehouse Manager) will be responsible for the operation of the Regional Warehouse at Roberto Clemente State Park by ordering and receiving office and cleaning supplies, uniforms and other commodities and materials, documenting deliveries, monitoring supply levels of various commodities kept at the warehouse, rotating stock as needed to assure that older materials are used before recently received items, maintain an updated inventory of materials and supplies using Microsoft Word and Excel, and assist in the distribution of warehouse commodities to various parks and other work units needing them including Shirley Chisholm State Park location. The Park Recreation Supervisor is expected to quickly learn and conscientiously apply inventory control and accountability measures designed to safeguard commodities, account for their distribution, prevent damage, and deter loss by theft. The appointee may be required to competently use a forklift in the course of their assigned duties and to assist in the authorized distribution and delivery of motorized equipment (including but not limited to snow and ice control melt or various heavy equipment) and supplies to various parks and other regions. Additionally, the incumbent will assist in the control and distribution of park uniforms, cleans, and maintains the warehouse, and assures that commodities and equipment are stored in a neat and organized fashion to assure ease of retrieval and readiness for use. The Park Recreation Supervisor is expected to use a variety of office equipment, vehicles, and hand tools in the performance of their tasks. The Park Recreation Supervisor will compile and prepare written reports in response to specific assignments, supervise lower level permanent and seasonal staff as assigned, and make recommendations for improved warehouse operation and security. The Park Recreation Supervisor may be required to assist in emergency situations by applying emergency procedures and practices by directing staff and working with patrons to minimize potential problems. The incumbent may need to work closely with volunteers, the community, contractors, vendors at other facilities and agencies to assure that NYS Parks’ mission is always met. The employee will perform a variety of administrative duties by assisting with inventories and collection of data for work orders and other assignments as needed.
Minimum Qualifications Four (4) years of experience in an organized recreation program, one year of which must have been in the coordination and implementation of the program.

Additional Comments OPERATING NEEDS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• This position is 40 hours per week; weekend, holiday, and evening work are required as operational needs arise.
• Must be well organized and creative - Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. - loading, unloading, and moving items of varying weights and sizes
• Candidate is expected to periodically support the New York City Region’s park and operational needs, including special assignments at other parks and emergency management tasks as needed.
DOWNSTATE ADJUSTMENT: $3,400
