Duties Description Under the direction of an Information Technology Specialist 4, SG25, within the Dedicated Support, Department of Heath, Department of Health, specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Design, configure, build, and support applications as assigned.
- Lead systems analysis and design, system development and integration of core business functions, and system implementation
- Prepare and/or assist with the preparation and maintenance of detailed technical procedures, user guides, system documentation, customer support documentation and design diagrams.
- Develop and execute system test plans.
- Provide end user support and/or training to client staff.
- Perform full range of supervisory responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications Open Competitive: Five years of professional experience in computer programming which must have involved the planning, configuration, testing, implementation, and/or management of the systems environment that supports the organization's information technology architecture and business needs.
OR
A bachelor's degree in any field including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science with at least 9 semester credit hours in programming languages and two years of experience in computer programming; or a bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field and three years of experience in computer programming; or an associate degree with 15 semester credit hours in programming languages and four years of experience in computer programming.
Transfer: One year of permanent competitive services as an Information Technology Specialist 3 (Programming) OR in a position at G-21 or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law.

Some positions may require up to 25% travel and/or lifting up to 50 lbs. Some positions are pending Civil Service approval. Details of position(s) will be described further if you are selected for an interview.
Positions located in New York City, will receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid-Hudson will receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay.
