Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications
• 3-5 years of experience in web content management and working in a Drupal environment
• 1-3 years of experience working with SharePoint, preferably as it relates to website development.
• Knowledge of SEO, content marketing, and web analytics.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic web technologies (preferred).
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong command of grammar and style.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Web Development or Multimedia Design preferred.
Minimum QUALIFICATIONS:
Non-competitive: Six years of experience in public relations, social media, and digital communications. Associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Social Media, Digital Communications, or similar degree substitutes for two, four, or five years.
Duties Description DUTIES DESCRIPTION:
The Web Content Manager and Digital Content specialist is responsible for planning, developing, and managing all content across the company's websites and digital platforms. This includes writing, editing, publishing, and maintaining high-quality, relevant, and timely web content that engages HESC core audiences and supports our agency’s goals and objectives.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
• Oversee the agency's website hosted in a Drupal environment. This includes creating, managing, and updating dynamic content and ensuring the website remains current and relevant.
• Develop and implement content strategies, guidelines, and workflows that ensure consistent and effective content creation, management, and delivery across all digital platforms.
• Manage the content management system (Drupal), maintaining the website's structure, navigation, and taxonomy to ensure optimal user experience.
• Create custom components, modules, forms, templates and plugins, and menus for HESC websites. Develop dynamic tabs, accordion functions, email registration forms, dynamic home page banners, and searchable and sortable tables.
• Monitor website analytics and user engagement metrics through Drupal and Google Analytics to optimize content performance. Based on data insights, implement changes to improve website traffic and user experience.
• Oversee the agency's Intranet on a SharePoint platform. Manage and update content to ensure it is timely and relevant. Develop and maintain sections with employee news, activities, and events, ensuring content is accurate and informative.
• Manage other digital platforms, including creating video content and managing live-streaming through YouTube, Webex, and social channels for various events.
• Make recommendations for website improvements and strategies to draw more traffic. Provide suggestions for enhancements to other digital platforms as needed.
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in web content and digital marketing to ensure HESC remains at the forefront of digital strategy.
• Maintain and manage social media channels. Respond to user questions and concerns on platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Triage general inquiries to appropriate business units as necessary.
• Create templates, develop, build, and distribute HESC newsletters and other communications to various audiences. This includes newsletters for students, employees, counselors, and other financial aid professionals, as well as email promotions like the Employee Newsletter, Counselor Newsletter, and HESC program notifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Comments TELECOMMUTING INFORMATION: Initially positions work full-time in the office and a hybrid telecommuting schedule of up to 50% remote work can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview.
SARALY DETAILS: For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
