Minimum Qualifications Education:
Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited college, university, or one recognized by the NYS Education Department as following acceptable educational standards in Hospital, Health Care, Public or Business Administration, or a related field.
AND
Experience:
Five (5) years of responsible management, administrative or supervisory experience in the health services field, including two (2) years as manager of one or more of the following areas functioning in support of clinical or treatment services: budget, fiscal, human resource management, affirmative action, information systems management, or support services in a general hospital, community mental health center, health care facility or a facility or agency providing services to people diagnosed with mental illness, developmental disabilities or mental retardation.
OR
Education:
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college, university, or one recognized by the NYS Education Department as following acceptable educational standards in Hospital, Health Care, Public or Business Administration, or a related field.
AND
Experience:
Seven (7) years of the experience described above including three (3) years as a manager to one or more of the following areas functioning in support of clinical or treatment services: budget, fiscal, human resource management, affirmative action, information systems management, or support services in a general hospital, community mental health center, health care facility or a facility or agency providing services to people diagnosed with mental illness, developmental disabilities or mental retardation.
Additionally, all candidates must be eligible to participate in Federal health care programs (e.g., Medicaid). Individuals excluded from participation in these programs will not be considered.
Duties Description The Director of Hospital Administration & Support Services:
• Provides management oversight and direction of Human Resources, Business Office, Physical Plant/Work Control (Maintenance, Engineering), Environmental Services/ Housekeeping, Safety & Security, and Nutrition/Food Services departments.
• Establishes and implements policies, procedures, and guidelines designed to ensure the effective operation of all necessary administrative and support services.
• Monitors the effectiveness of policies and ensures Joint Commission standards for Administrative Services are met.
Additional Comments South Beach Psychiatric Center (SBPC), a Joint Commission accredited Office of Mental Health (OMH) facility is recruiting a Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 2 – Administration (DDPC 2 – Admin) to serve as the Director of Hospital Administration & Support Services.
SBPC recently completed construction on a brand-new, modern $250 million inpatient facility located in State Island, NY. SBPC offers a comprehensive continuum of behavioral health services to adults with serious mental illness and children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances living in Brooklyn and Staten Island. In addition to Joint Commission accreditation, SBPC is a teaching site for psychiatry residents from Richmond University Medical Center and New York University (NYU).
SBPC provides recovery-oriented and patient-centered behavioral health treatment to 3,500 individuals.
Their inpatient facility provides care to approximately 335 patients including units devoted to children and adolescents and medically complex patients. SBPC’s network of community services is comprised of Transitional Living Residences, outpatient clinics in Brooklyn and Staten Island, Children and Youth Day Treatment, MIT and ACT teams and specialized treatment programs serving LGBTQ+ clients and Limited English Proficiency (LEP) patients.
SBPC partnered with New York State Psychiatric Institute and Columbia University to build OnTrackNY, a first-in-the-nation mental health treatment program for individuals between ages 18-30 that have experienced first episode psychosis.
