The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description The New York State Education Department's (NYSED) Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking applicants for multiple Information Technology Specialist 2 positions. These positions offer opportunities in many different areas, including, but not limited to:
• Web application development leveraging technologies such as Java, JavaScript, and SQL;
• Server and networking support for our in-house data center as well as Cloud infrastructure;
• Database Administration for Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL databases;
• Application Integration support for API Services, Continuous Delivery;
• Low-code platform development and administration;
• UX Design and Development; and
• Enterprise Help Desk Support and Automation.

These will be contingent permanent appointments. For 55b/c appointment, candidates must possess the minimum qualifications, a current 55b/c eligibility letter and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility. Promotions and transfers may change appointees’ negotiating unit. Candidates should be aware that changes in negotiating units may affect their salary, insurance, and other benefits. These positions lead to a maximum salary of $80,248 based on annual performance advances.
