Summary

The Key Account Executive will coordinate all NYPA business for Municipal Electric Utility and Rural Cooperative customers in the Clean Energy Solutions group. The Key Account Executive is the primary contact for customers to maintain and enhance relationships, provide strategic solutions through account planning, ensure the quality of services, contract management compliance, business communications, and offer NYPA’s products and services as opportunities are identified, while to promoting NYPA organizational awareness of customer needs.

The goal is to understand the Voice of the Customer, to provide strategic solutions with the highest quality of service, ensure open and clear communications, and become the trusted Advisor for all energy decisions, resolve problems and ensures customers receive high quality customer service We are here to partner with our customers and the state to meet their energy goals. #LI-VB1

Responsibilities

  • Manage a wide-variety of customer accounts
  • Analyze the customer market segment, understand customer needs, and become a trusted energy advisor, to provide customized energy solutions.
  • Research and resolve customer concerns in a timely manner and track responses in the Customer Relationship Management software.
  • Conduct virtual and in-person communications, including webinars, meetings, conferences, and briefings.
  • Support the team by providing customer feedback to continuously improve customer service.
  • Advocate for customer needs with internal teams to provide a tailored approach for each customer segment.
  • Prepare customer communications, such as mailings, newsletters, briefings, and marketing materials.
  • Assist the Manager, or Director and the Primary Account Executive in an ad-hoc environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of electric utility industry, account management and business development concepts.
  • Account Management and/or business development experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to learn new systems and technologies.
  • Ability to think strategically, to proactively understand customer needs, and to provide solutions to overcome obstacles.
  • Ability to maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies like advanced controls and the impact on current and future customer needs.

Education, Experience and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Engineering or a related technical field is required.
  • Minimum 4 years in customer front line experience required, preferably account management experience in the utility/energy industry

Physical Requirements

Up to 30% travel primarily within NY State.

The New York Power Authority is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. The estimated salary range for this position is: $87,900.00 - $120,860.00. The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates’ relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
