National Grid is hiring a People Business Partner for Group Functions. This position can be based at NG House, Warwick, UK.

About The Role

Are you ready to make a significant impact in a dynamic and inclusive environment? We are seeking a passionate and experienced People Business Partner to support the delivery of our people strategy for Finance & Procurement. In this pivotal role, you will be a trusted advisor to senior leaders, helping to shape and execute organisational strategies that foster a high-performance culture.

What You'll Do

  • Trusted Advisor: Provide high-quality, risk-based advice to management at all levels, building a reputation as a credible and flexible HR professional.
  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate closely with senior leaders to understand their business challenges and goals, offering strategic HR guidance tailored to their needs.
  • People Strategies: Develop and implement bespoke people strategies that enhance organisational effectiveness and drive talent development.
  • Talent Management: Lead succession planning and talent reviews, ensuring we nurture our future leaders.
  • Performance Coaching: Support leaders in setting clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching to enhance team performance.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making and measure the impact of HR initiatives.
  • Engagement Champion: Drive employee engagement and retention strategies, promoting a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Global Collaboration: Build key relationships with people partners in the UK and US, working across a global function.
  • Best Practice Solutions: Collaborate with specialist colleagues within the HR team to deliver tailored, best practice solutions to business challenges.
  • Compliance Focus: Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, minimizing grievances and complaints.

About You

  • Proven Experience: You have a successful track record of business partnering in a professional and commercial organisation.
  • Exceptional Communicator: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and all levels of the business.
  • Self-Starter: A motivated individual who adapts to varying business needs with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to influence and achieve results through strategic thinking and problem-solving.
  • HR Expertise: Experience in managing key stakeholder relationships and providing tailored, risk-based advice within a complex, matrix organisation.
  • Change Management: Proven experience in planning and delivering organisational design and people change initiatives.
  • Talent Development: Skilled in developing talent and succession plans to ensure future success.
  • Emotional Intelligence: You possess the ability to engage in courageous conversations, coaching, and influencing others effectively.

What You'll Get

  • Competitive Salary: circa £62,000 – £74,000 per annum (dependent on location, capability, and experience).
  • Bonus: Up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance.

More Information

  • This role is offered on a Full-Time, Permanent basis.
  • We are also offering hybrid /flexible working where travel to the office will be as per business need. Base location for this role will be NG House, Warwick, UK.
