Key Accountabilities
- Help with coordination for regulatory engagement
- Working on assigned regulatory reporting submissions to ensure alignment of Security activities
- Work with senior cyber analyst in preparation of materials for external meetings and review of deliverables for quality and consistency
- Supporting development of forward-looking investment plans
- Working to ensure security strategy ambitions are deployed and adhered to
- Supporting report writing and investment paper development
- Aide in coordinating with Security management team for regulatory and wider reporting. For instance, Executive and Board reporting
- Building change management and continuous improvement within the team, through sharing of best practice and developing the right tools and enablers.
What you'll do
As a Network Security Engineer for our Network Security Operations Center (NSOC), you'll be part of a team responsible for day to day management of Network Security capabilities within the NSOC. You'll act on incident, change, and problem management activities. Additionally, you'll actively seek opportunities to enhance the NSOC's overall capability and process workflow. You'll collaborate with key stakeholders to optimize Network Security capabilities, with the goal of improving user experience and enhancing the organization's security posture. This position will on occasion require you to field a call off hours. Key responsibilities include the following:
- Gather requirements, assess the risk of and implement firewall changes to address the demands of the business.
- Triage application and user connectivity issues, implement configuration change where necessary
- Provide guidance in operating, maintaining, and enhancing Network Security capabilities
- Engage effectively with key stakeholders to ensure that the services supported by the NSOC meet customer and stakeholder requirements.
- Cross train with other team members to support professional development
- Help identify key trends and execute remediation plans for recurring incidents
About you
- A degree in Cyber Security related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with security technologies, including Palo Alto and Cisco Fire Power.
- Experience with incident and change activities in a large enterprise environment.
- Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, supporting, and optimizing network security capabilities.
- Understanding of networking protocols and infrastructure designs, including cloud infrastructures, routing, firewall functionality, host and network intrusion detection systems, encryption, load balancing, and other network devices.
- The following certifications would be a plus: - Cisco CCIE Security, Checkpoint CCSE/CCSM, Palo Alto PCNSE, F5 201/401 and Zscaler ZDTA/ZTCA
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £50,000 - £60,000 dependent on capability
