About the role

Join us and help deliver world-class HVDC projects that will shape the future of the UK’s transmission system.

National Grid will be delivering over £10 bn of investment in the GB electricity grid over the next 5 years in conjunction with SP Energy Networks. A major part of this is delivery of the EGL1 HVDC link in Joint Venture with SP Energy Networks. National Grid Electricity Transmission creates value from its assets. This role will develop a strategy for, and subsequently manage, Building Information Modelling (BIM) across our EGL1 project. BIM is relatively new to National Grid, and we are seeking to maximise the benefits of its use, whilst being mindful of the way BIM needs to integrate into our wider development, construction and asset management systems. The BIM Manager role will form part of the EGL1 PMO team and report to the PMO Lead.

This role will require experience of managing BIM at Levels 0 to 2 and the creation of BIM strategy and associated resources. Our projects are £multi-billion and with complex technologies and supply-chains. The BIM Manager will establish a consistent and collaborative approach to BIM across the portfolio and work with project directors, JV partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to create and embed leading BIM practices.

This role welcomes applicants UK wide, and we offer hybrid working from office and home. You’ll be given the flexibility you need to shape your role and will have the chance to work in a dynamic environment at the heart of the energy transition.
