We are looking for a Senior Project Supervisor to join our London & South-East team within the Infrastructure Delivery business unit, with the immediate focus being London Power Tunnels 2. This is a £1 billion project to rewire South London via 32km of new underground tunnels and cables and is vital to help keep Londoners connected to safe and reliable electricity supplies.


As Senior Project Supervisor, you’ll ensure all site-based construction activities delivered by our principal contractors are safely managed in accordance with legal safety requirements and National Grid policies and procedures.


You’ll supervise a team of approximately 10 Project Supervisors across London and the surrounding area, providing them with support & guidance and development, assign resources to projects within your area whilst ensuring the highest level of safety, quality & environmental standards are maintained. You will also play a key role in mentoring future supervisors as part of our Construction Development Programme.


You’ll also be required to support NG site and project management teams in ensuring CDM regulations are met, undertake regular safety audits/walks and hold coordination meetings with all parties on site during project delivery. In addition, you’ll complete ‘Site Visit Reports’ and facilitate site visits with designers and other stakeholders.

You’ll be based out of a London site office with a mix of home, travel to sites and office working.

What you'll need

  • Currently or have previously been a Project Supervisor, supporting a team.
  • A proven track record in electricity (or comparable) industry construction, with previous experience of project site supervision. Ideally authorised to NG BP142.
  • Good understanding of Safety and Environmental Legislation and practices, CDM regulations and quality management systems as the supervisor under NEC.
  • Construction knowledge of practices and methodologies.
  • Client Representative experience.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Experience of managing risk for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost, quality, safety and security of supply.
