About the role

Great Britain's electricity infrastructure is undergoing an ambitious, exciting and vital transformation. Together with industry, we are creating a cleaner, greener system, one that protects the planet and serves generations to come.

Our new Strategic Infrastructure (SI) business unit has been set up to deliver 17 new major projects enabling the connection of 50GW of sustainable electricity to the National Grid.

The SI Onshore Programme Management Office (PMO) has a significant role to play in supporting delivery of these projects, not least the Performance & Reporting team through the timely provision of information, data, intelligence, and insight.

As a Performance Manager you will share the leadership of the Performance Management Team, ensuring the implementation and continuous improvement of our performance reporting and review processes. This role involves preparing and presenting data and information in line with the monthly reporting cycle, providing valuable insights and intelligence to support effective decision-making.

• You'll have skills in providing high-quality performance analysis and assurance within a programme or PMO environment. Including experience in managing and leading teams ideally including of virtual/remote team networks.
• Experience in construction or major infrastructure projects
• Considerable experience of information management techniques and drawing conclusions from data to offer strategic recommendations in support of senior-level decision making.
• Knowledge of programme controls functions (including schedule, cost, risk, reporting and change control) and integration of programme controls data from multiple delivery partners and workstreams.
• An awareness of Earned Value Management reporting metrics and data production methods preferably supported by prior experience.
• Demonstrable examples of exercising sound judgement and facilitating decision making on complex issues among multiple stakeholders.
• A track record of using Power Bi or similar reporting tools to inform decision making and project tools to ensure delivery to time cost and quality.
• Competent in the use of PowerPoint or similar and the production and implementation of presentations.

What you'll do

The Performance Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Performance Management function both in terms of team members (circa 6 direct reports) and the wider stakeholder community. They will report to the Head of Data and Performance Management.

You will play a key role in the projects within the Onshore SI delivery team, including;

• Recruiting and allocating team members to delivery projects,
• Fostering strong relationships with project teams and delivery partners
• Implementing performance reporting deliverables such as Project Board performance packs and reviews.
• Continuous improvement and transformation of the Performance Management Function

A competitive salary up to £70,000 dependent on capability.

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
