Supporting the Payroll team with the smooth running of payroll services. Reporting to the Assistant Payroll Manager working with our offshore teams you’ll support the timely and accurate processing of the monthly payroll.
You will primarily be responsible for providing advice and guidance to our contact HR and offshore teams, in line with our SLA’s using Service Now, building relationships with both teams to ensure efficient and accurate transactional processing and a seamless operation between the UK and offshore operations. You will also be the first line of support when dealing with queries/events raised in our ticketing system.
This role is be based out of our Warwick office, and our hybrid approach of 1-2 days per week in the office but you’re welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!
What You'll Do
- Reporting to the Assistant Payroll Manager you will be contributing to the smooth running of Payroll & HR transactions for National Grid and those that are managed under a service agreement, ensuring that the quality outputs of the transaction is accurate and the service to our colleagues is outstanding and surpasses the KPI’s.
- Building strong and trusted relationships across the business and with service providers ensuring high quality outputs and customer service.
- Effective ticket management of Payroll and HR Queries and transactions and validating that these have been completed accurately and on time.
- Contributing to HR and Payroll policies & Processes being up to date, consistent formatting, and content, change approvals process, version control and publication etc.
- Be a team player, adaptable, flexible and ready to step in to assist your colleagues.
What You'll Have
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) or equivalent or studying towards (desirable).
- Proven payroll experience and understanding of payroll processes.
- Knowledge of all HMRC rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of Employment law as needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Microsoft office at Intermediate level.
- Experience of working to tight deadlines.
- Experience of SAP and success factors (preferred).
- Able to work under own initiative.
- Be a good team player supporting colleagues where necessary.
