National Grid is hiring a Residential Energy Efficiency Business Specialist, Massachusetts
This is a Hybrid Role - One day a week in office - Must live within a commutable distance to Waltham
Job Purpose
National Grid is committed to delivering safe, reliable products and services that support State energy goals and initiatives. This role is primarily focused on processing program incentives and providing other program and financial control support for our nation-leading energy efficiency products and services branded under Mass Save®. The position is hybrid (in office once a week) and is based out of the Waltham, MA.
Key Accountabilities
- Prepare and submit vendor invoices for payments through the Company’s energy efficiency tracking system.
- Review measures, incentives, and pricing for eligibility and accuracy.
- Conduct additional quality control checks on each vendor invoice submission to ensure compliance with all program and contract guidelines and accounts payable principles.
- Follow up with vendors to collect additional documentation needed to support a payment, if necessary.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with vendor accounting, finance, and incentive processing teams to drive payment processing improvements. Provide updates to internal process documents when changes are made.
- Provide data analysis on incentive and payment trends.
- Prepare additional ad hoc information requests from internal/external stakeholders, including auditors and regulators, upon request.
- Track files within SharePoint in an organized manner coordinating with all stakeholders to ensure known filing mechanisms.
- Assist with monitoring monthly vendor accruals.
- Assist with data gathering for monthly forecasting.
- Partner with Program Managers to ensure program and financial control processes that deliver quality programs and customer satisfaction.
- Assist Program Managers in problem-solving customer escalations including direct customer relationships via calling and email.
- Develop and maintain a technical understanding of energy efficiency measures and services that apply to programs, technologies and properties.
- Represent National Grid at periodic customer-facing events as needed, throughout the state of MA. Drivers license and ability to travel required.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Sustainability or an equivalent field required.
- Demonstrated skills in the use of relevant software, e.g., Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) along with the ability to learn other programs and applications such as Salesforce and SAP.
- Experience in clean energy and/or a regulated industry is helpful, but not required.

- Proven analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
- Critical thinking and the ability to organize information (quantitative and qualitative).
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Some travel to vendor or job sites may be required.
More Information
Salary
$86,000 - $101,000 a year
Salary commensurate with location and experience
