About the role

We are looking for an Overhead Line Trainer to work within Global Technical Training to deliver innovative and interactive technical training with a strong focus on OHL. Training delivery is primarily at Eakring Technical Training Centre, however, will include training at operational sites through out the UK.


Climbing to and working at height on a daily basis is a requirement of the role. This role includes training delivery, portfolio assessment, maintenance of training assets and equipment, product review and stakeholder engagement with the operational business. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, operationally focused individual with a background in OHL, to share their extensive knowledge with new and existing staff.

About you

The role will attract positive and proactive individuals who always prioritise and promote safety. The successful candidate should have the following:

  • Be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge and understanding of OHL towers, fittings, insulators, and conductors.
  • Have technical expertise in M1 Maintenance Procedures.
  • Understanding of National Grid Safety Rules, NSI 4 and associated TGN’s.
  • Willingness to learn and subsequently lead in specialist training packages e.g., Temporary Tower Training.
  • SAP experience (desirable).
  • Rope Access experience (desirable).
  • Have a good degree of IT skills and be conversant with Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Confident and varied communications skills.

What you'll get

A competitive salary between £45,000 – 50,000 – dependent on capability
