Position Overview:

Mechanical Engineer will design, develop, and oversee mechanical systems in building projects, ensuring they meet specifications, codes, and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for construction projects
• Create detailed mechanical drawings and specifications using CAD/BIM software
• Perform load calculations and system sizing for mechanical components
• Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and monitor installation
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and electrical engineers to coordinate designs
• Review shop drawings and submittals from contractors
• Troubleshoot mechanical system issues during construction
• Ensure compliance with building codes, industry standards, and project requirements
• Develop energy-efficient solutions that meet sustainability goals
• Prepare cost estimates for mechanical systems
• Participate in client meetings to present design concepts and address concerns

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
• 3-5 years of experience in building mechanical system design
• Proficiency in mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar)
• Strong knowledge of ASHRAE standards, building codes, and energy efficiency requirements

Competencies:

• Experience with energy modeling and analysis
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal
• Detail-oriented with good project management capabilities
