Regional Engineering Manager
Position Overview
Lead and oversee all building system operations, maintenance, and engineering staff across multiple properties to ensure continuous operation and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee maintenance and operation of all building systems including fire/life safety, mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, elevators), electrical, lighting, temperature controls, and digital systems
- Develop and implement comprehensive preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance plans
- Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain all required infrastructure documentation
- Identify safety hazards and implement remediation measures
Team Leadership
- Supervise, hire, train, and develop engineering and maintenance staff
- Conduct staff performance reviews using Workday and support professional development
- Organize and manage all engineering staff activities efficiently
Project & Vendor Management
- Manage service contractors and outside vendors
- Oversee building projects from planning through execution and closeout
- Assist in capital planning for infrastructure upgrades and equipment replacements
- Review construction documents and monitor project progress
Financial Management
- Prepare and monitor operational and capital budgets
- Track and manage utility consumption (electricity, gas, water)
- Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining building integrity
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with JLL policies, procedures, and compliance audits
- Implement JLL initiatives such as 4Sight, Operations Audit, and Energy Star
- Maintain complete and accurate building documentation, drawings, and logs
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 7 years of commercial building systems experience
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance management experience
- Universal Technician Certification (CFC)
- Advanced training certificates for major building systems
- Manufacturing experience required
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and work order/PM systems
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities for all building systems
- Understanding of energy savings models
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
- Capable of climbing, balancing, stooping, and working in confined spaces
- Able to work at heights up to 100+ feet
- Can regularly lift 25 pounds and move up to 100 pounds safely
- 20/20 vision (natural or corrected)
