Location: 22 Bishopsgate, London – Primarily On Site with occasional home working

What this job involves:

As the Smart Buildings Systems Performance Manager, working closely with suppliers, stakeholders and leaders across the building, you will optimise and manage integrated smart building systems, platforms, portals, and networks to enhance operational and maintenance efficiency, security, commercial use, sustainability, and occupier comfort. You will leverage advanced analytics to monitor, analyse, and improve building automation, energy management, and business resilience via interconnected systems, but above all to support decision making. You will identify performance and data gaps, implement solutions, and drive innovation in building operations; develop and track KPIs to measure system effectiveness, security, and building efficiency; collaborate across teams to align system functionality and performance with 22 Bishopsgate goals and industry-leading best practices; proactively recommending upgrades to maintain a technological edge and operational excellence.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and market-leading performance monitoring framework for all integrated smart building systems that aligns with 22 Bishopsgate goals and Smart Building initiatives.

  • Outline and define data collection methods, storage solutions, integration processes, and analytical approaches.

  • Conduct regular system, network, and performance analysis to ensure data accuracy, identifying inefficiencies and areas for improvement to ensure security.

  • Deliver a continuous improvement plan for smart building systems, incorporating emerging technologies and best practices to maintain the buildings iconic status.

  • Produce broad, detailed data and analytics with trend analysis, supporting operational and strategic leadership, to maximise performance and the operational benefit of the Smart technology and associated processes. Ensure all systems are in use and delivering against their strategic deliverables and reporting KPIs.

  • Establish data governance policies, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance.

  • Structure and lead the specialist supply chain (internal and external) to provide interoperable systems solutions for 22 Bishopsgate data and system requirements.

  • Embrace the culture of 22 Bishopsgate and take a full and active part in the team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good basic education with proficiency in MS Office.

  • Demonstrable experience in strategic systems definition, development, implementation and continued management.

  • Experience with data network structures and administration principles. including telecoms.

  • Awareness of GDPR requirements and strategies to meet an organisations data protection obligations.

  • Cyber security awareness and defence strategy experience.

  • Technology management and evidence of continuous improvement innovation.

  • Supply chain management, including strategy, selection, procurement and management.

  • Excellent understanding of how building engineering systems work.

  • Budget creation and management.

  • Awareness of ISO principles and standards.

Desired but not essential experience:

  • Engineering / commissioning experience.

  • Creating and interpreting systems data reports from Smart Technology.

  • Ability to use Power BI to create dynamic MI reporting from multiple data sources.

  • Business case development and understanding of financial metrics.

  • Consumption reduction strategy experience, developed with clear measures and deliverables.

  • Knowledge of the principles of service charge and the RICS guidance.

  • Effective input into the organisation’s innovation plan.

  • Industry accreditation in building automation, digital engineering or technology such as IET.

22 Bishopsgate is a people-focused workplace destination, managed by AXA IM Alts on behalf of an international consortium of investors. Located in the City of London, 22B is Europe’s first vertical village and accommodates a community of up to 12,000 people.

The 1.375 million sqft building, which is 278m high with 62 Levels, was created to champion better business by providing 120,000 sqft of shared spaces throughout. Its purpose is to grow a thriving community, bringing together a diverse range of occupiers across numerous industries.

22 Bishopsgate has been designed to meet the highest ESG standards and the management team is committed to ensuring sustainable practices are met in every aspect of how the building is run.

The building was developed by AXA IM Alts in partnership with Lipton Rogers Developments, designed by Karen Cook of PLP Architecture and constructed by Multiplex.
