Job Title: Apprentice Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Based Barnoldswick onsite at Rolls-Royce.

What this opportunity involves:

JLL are excited to open applications for our 2025 Apprenticeship program. We are currently seeking an Apprentice Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Derby. This apprenticeship program offers a unique opportunity for individuals to gain practical experience and expand their knowledge in the field of Mechanical engineering on a four-year program. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, the apprentice will support various Mechanical engineering projects across our portfolio of commercial real estate properties whilst working towards becoming a NVQ qualified Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.

The role will require 4 days per week in our offices and one day per week at college to complete the Maintenance and operations engineering technician (level 3) training course.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Mechanical Maintenance engineers with the design, installation, and maintenance of Mechanical systems in commercial buildings.

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including routine inspections and testing of mechanical equipment.

  • Assist in troubleshooting Mechanical faults and recommend appropriate solutions.

  • Read and interpret Mechanical drawings, diagrams, and blueprints.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Maintain accurate records of Mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in Mechanical engineering and recommend process improvements.

Requirements:

  • GCSE English – grade C and Maths – grade C

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Health and safety-conscious mindset.
