The Regional Real Estate Project Manager within GM Real Estate is responsible for overseeing all real estate functions supporting GM Sales, Service & Marketing (SSM) in the Southeast and South Central Regions. This role reports directly to the Assistant Director of North American Real Estate (indirectly to the SSM Regional Business Manager) and involves a range of key responsibilities, including:

  • Transaction Strategy – Executing GM Dealer Network strategies, including negotiating real estate contracts (both business terms and contract language) for routine and complex transactions. Additionally, overseeing and coordinating property due diligence investigations to ensure informed decision-making
  • Stakeholder Management – Coordinating efforts among legal teams, environmental consultants, brokers, and other key parties involved in transactions
  • Adherence to Timelines and Budgeting – Supporting business unit budgeting and ensuring project timelines are met.
  • Policy Compliance – Ensuring real estate services align with GM Real Estate policies and procedures while managing corporate real estate documents and workflows.
  • Leadership Engagement – Delivering periodic presentations to regional and senior management.
  • Land Use Matters – Collaborating with local authorities on land use, permitting, entitlements, and other property-related concerns.

Additionally, the Regional Manager may be required to support or lead other non-dealership real estate projects across North America.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should have the capability to lead projects involving internal stakeholders and external resources and be skilled in negotiations, financial analysis and a broad range of real estate matters including legal and environmental.
  • The ability to develop and maintain customer relationships is critical to the position.
  • The individual should demonstrate strong business acumen, solid interpersonal and leadership skills, and be highly motivated, organized, creative, and success oriented.
  • Candidates should have a diverse range of real estate experience over a minimum of 5 years including corporate real estate and local brokerage/tenant representation.
  • Economic development, real estate investment & development experience a plus. B.A./B.S. in business/finance/real estate required. Prefer MBA and/or JD.
