The Role

As a senior-level business development leader with a focus on MENA and selectively across Europe, the Senior Vice President position will focus on business development and foster collaboration with key JLL team members, including Africa Tourism Head based remotely and the JLL Saudi office. The role will be integral to driving growth in the region.

The position will focus on market research, attending trade shows and engaging in one-on-one appointments, where the focus will be on elevating awareness of JLL’s tourism practice among key decision-makers in Saudi Arabia and across EMEA. This is a critical role in highlighting the global tourism practice and showcasing its value to a broader audience.

They will interface seamlessly with various stakeholders, including the offices in Saudi Arabia and Africa, ensuring that all parties are aligned and working towards common objectives.

This position will play a critical role in our transition towards being recognized as a global tourism advisory leader and is essential in building relationships and eminence across the region, whilst ensuring outstanding delivery quality. This role’s primary reporting line is to the Practice Lead, Global Tourism Advisory and Destination Development based in the US with matrix reporting to the Country Lead, MENA and the Hotels and Hospitality Lead, MENA.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Team Management:

  • Develop and implement a cohesive strategy for MENA Tourism Advisory and Destination Development ensuring alignment with the team’s broader overall goals and objectives.
  • Support the growth of revenue from Tourism Advisory and Destination Development Services.
  • Drive innovation and expansion, capitalizing on emerging market trends.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs, ensuring consistent and sustainable revenue growth.
  • Gain full knowledge of current JLL Tourism Advisory tools and products. Apply knowledge base to differentiate JLL in the market place.
  • Set and deliver on quarterly and annual growth targets, including overall revenues, new client revenue, CAGR, and sector margin.

Client Management and Business Development:

  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with major client targets and key stakeholders across the region.
  • Oversee strategic Business Development initiatives ensuring OneJLL collaboration.
  • Identify new business opportunities, targeting and penetrating key accounts.
  • Implement highly effective account development plans to increase wallet share and secure renewals of key contracts.

Service Quality and Innovation:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality service and products.
  • Ensure exceptional client service delivery by ensuring consistent, high-quality client deliverables, within a structured framework that optimizes executional effectiveness, oversight and timely delivery.
  • Partner with other teams to identify, develop, and roll out advisory solutions that differentiate the JLL brand.

Cross-functional Collaboration and Market Intelligence:

  • Work with other JLL business lines in MENA to identify and capture cross-selling opportunities.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of the competitive landscape, collecting and analyzing market trends and competitor intelligence

Thought Leadership and Eminence Building:

  • Oversee thought leadership distribution across EMEA working in collaboration with research
  • Develop the knowledge, skills, and eminence of global tourism specialists
  • Represent JLL at industry events and forums, establishing the company as a thought leader in the division.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building a tourism advisory business and a deep understanding of the MENA market. They will have excellent client relationships across the region and a proven track record of revenue acquisition and share of wallet growth with strategic clients. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.

The Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience of Sales in Leadership in Tourism Advisory, Consultancy or related CRE services, including a track record of delivering on revenue targets
  • 5+ years of experience and/or background in serving MENA Clients.
  • Leading Leaders – ability to drive and influence other internal business leaders to deliver results
  • Structure and Process - Successfully demonstrate the application of analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills and a highly efficient and structured work method to align multi-jurisdictional teams.
  • Collaborative approach – works effectively across a complex organization with a team and firm-first orientation
  • Exemplary executive presence – has the gravitas and sophistication to appropriately command the room, both internally as a leader and more importantly externally with clients.
  • Leading teams – proven ability to build, develop, and drive a new business development team to deliver aggressive growth
  • Strategic and critical thinking – exhibits strong levels of insight and intellectual curiosity
  • Digitally astute and forward-looking – an early adopter of technology and driver of digital products
  • Culturally-astute – experienced working in different cultures and able to deliver across borders
