We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Data Center Mechanical Program Manager to lead mechanical infrastructure initiatives across our data center portfolio. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of critical cooling systems while managing cross-functional programs from design through commissioning. The ideal candidate has a strong background in mechanical engineering, program management, and experience in mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end program management of mechanical infrastructure projects (HVAC, CRAC, chilled water systems, etc.) across multiple data center sites.
  • Drive planning, budgeting, design review, and execution for new builds, retrofits, and system upgrades.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, IT infrastructure teams, operations, and third-party contractors.
  • Develop and maintain mechanical design standards in alignment with company performance goals and industry best practices.
  • Oversee commissioning, testing, and documentation of mechanical systems.
  • Ensure mechanical infrastructure meets or exceeds Uptime Institute Tier standards, ASHRAE guidelines, and applicable local codes.
  • Identify and mitigate mechanical risks and single points of failure.
  • Manage vendor selection, contract negotiations, and performance monitoring.
  • Track project milestones, budgets, and KPIs to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and mechanical system efficiency improvements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise during incident investigations and root cause analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (Master’s or PE license a plus).
  • 5–10 years of experience in mechanical systems design and program management in a data center or mission-critical environment.
  • Proven success managing large-scale capital projects and/or operational upgrades.
  • Familiarity with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and CFD software.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, ISO standards and local building codes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills (PMP certification preferred).
  • Ability to travel up to [10–25%] as required for site visits and inspections.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in or with hyperscale cloud providers or colocation facilities.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and SCADA.

Estimated total compensation for this position:

112,000.00 – 116,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
