What this job involves
We are seeking a Sustainability Data Analyst with a minimum of 4-6 years of experience in the relevant field to join our team. You will be responsible for the sustainability data collection, management, analysis and reporting, compliance and reporting functions for a wide range of assets across JLL. As a member of the JLL Sustainable Operations team, you will ensure our sustainability services are effectively and efficiently delivered.
This position is a hybrid role (2 days a week in office) requires in office presence in McLean, VA, Plano, TX or Richmond, VA and may require periodic travel.
Key responsibilities include:
Sustainability data collection and management – Collecting and providing quarterly and annual energy, water and waste reports, including QA/QC, reviewing with the client, and working with vendors to make necessary corrections
GHG Inventory Support – Collaborating with account stakeholders to review and ensure compliance in refrigerant, diesel and propane data
Energy and Water Consumption Variance Program – Identify and investigate anomalies with building operations data, collaborate with JLL teams and provide reports to client.
Sustainability Capital Projects and Green Building Certification – Support data analytics needs for supporting project development and implementation.
Utility Budget Development – Collaborating with the Finance team to develop utility budget utilizing baseline energy usage and projected monthly rate changes for electric, gas, and water/sewer.
Utility Data Collection & Bill Payment – Working with utility bill pay partner and Finance team to ensure timely bill payment and utility account open/close services. Performing daily, monthly and quarterly data quality checks to ensure utility data digitization accuracy.
Energy Star Benchmarking – Lead processes to update portfolio manager account on a regular basis, including maintaining accurate property details and energy usage data.
Regulatory Compliance & Benchmarking - Collaborating with account stakeholders to review and ensure compliance with local, state and federal energy regulations, including reporting requirements for emissions and sustainability programs

Experience with sustainability management platforms and data visualization tools.
University Degree Graduate/postgraduate in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or related fields)
5 plus years’ experience in related fields
Certification in sustainability or data analysis (e.g., LEED, SASB).
A passion for Sustainability and pulling together associated Data and Reporting.
Demonstrated experience in developing insights, actions, project ideation across energy, water, GHG emissions and waste data aspects
Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail and ability to work autonomously.
Advanced Excel skills, efficient management of Office Management tools and Project management trackers
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proven excellent communication and presentation skills.
Knowledge of sustainability standards and reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP, SASB)
Experience working in a collaborative way with clients and other stakeholders to identify and solution for effective and impactful communications and engagement
An understanding of the key sustainability issues for corporate occupiers of real estate including, but not limited to; decarbonization, embodied carbon, circularity, resource preservation, biodiversity, climate risk, health & wellbeing, and social value creation
Experience working with corporate clients, commercial property, property managers and an understanding of the landlord and tenant relationship is desirable
Excellent ability to build relationships with clients and their internal teams
A strong track record of managing program governance and complex documentation in a controlled systematic manner
Attention to detail and accuracy in written and numeric work
Ability to obtain buy-in and engagement from employees at all levels
