Executive Director, Head of Global Cyber Defense
Remote - anywhere in the USA
This position is accountable for defending the organization globally from the broad spectrum of Cybersecurity threats with capability and intent to attack JLL. The Head of Global Cyber Defense provides global strategic leadership over multiple high impact operational Cybersecurity capabilities, specifically Cybersecurity monitoring, threat detection engineering, incident response, threat hunt and threat intelligence. A successful candidate has working and demonstrated experience in the development and continuous maturation of these disciplines and operational capabilities. This position will report directly to the Global Chief Information Security Officer and, in addition interface, regularly with executive leadership across multiple parts of the business, as such the ability to articulate highly technical concepts in a clear and concise manner is key. A successful candidate must also be detail oriented, capable of operating in an extremely dynamic environment, possess strong organizational skills, and highly collaborative.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and direct proactive global Cybersecurity, protection, detection, and response activities designed to ensure the organization has effective and consistent controls that are commensurate with the rapidly escalating cyber threat environment.
- Drives operational excellence and delivers continued program improvements, aligning with and supporting the organization’s risk appetite, and meeting contractual and compliance requirements. Program improvements to be executed by both internal and external assessments leading to detailed action plans for positive outcomes.
- Provide budgetary and strategic oversight for Cyber Defense capabilities. Strategic oversight and investments to provide for the necessary tooling, training opportunities, compensation, and culture, to attract and retain top-tier industry talent and provide industry-leading Cyber Defense capabilities.
- Promote a highly collaborative work environment that allows for creative approaches to highly complex and technical challenges.
- Enable the business by ensuring key stakeholders have a clear line of sight into the current threat landscape in order to cyber defenses, achieve strategic business goals, and ensure the success of initiatives outside of Information Security. Builds consensus on Cyber Defense issues by leading through influence with key executive stakeholders.
- Oversee the establishment of cross-functional teams comprised of Cybersecurity practitioners and leaders to execute strategic goals through tactical implementations for improving the security architecture, controls implementation, and risk posture of JLL.
- Remain current on constantly emerging Cybersecurity threats to ensure continual protection of the Corporation’s assets, information, and reputation, ensuring the balance between risk posture and business agility.
- Manages vendor relationships that provide services or technologies specific to Cyber Defense.
- Develop key metrics as part of an OKR framework to measure the effectiveness and drive continuous improvement of Cyber Defense capabilities via both leading and trailing success indicators.
- Familiarity with Cybersecurity industry best practices, frameworks and methodologies such as but not limited to NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, MITRE ATT&CK, CIS, etc....
- Provides overall direction for incident handling processes, including containment, protection, remediation, and after-action activities.
Job Requirements
- 15+ years tactical multi-disciplined Cybersecurity experience.
- 5+ years strategic leadership experience.
- Demonstratable success in protecting the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of large corporate environments.
- Detailed familiarity of the Cybersecurity threat environment for large enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated ability to articulate Cybersecurity risk to business leaders, stakeholders and Senior Executives.
- Detailed understanding of offensive cybersecurity tactics, techniques and procedures.
- Detailed working knowledge of building alerting and monitoring environments at scale.
- Detailed working knowledge of the Threat Intelligence (TI) process, and how TI can bolster Cyber Defenses.
- Detailed experience in Threat Hunt planning, execution, and result oriented success outcomes.
- Experience in creating highly effective tactical Cybersecurity capabilities from the “ground up”.
- Ability to adapt and prioritize, set and meet deadlines, in a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Work independently and within a team to build relationships and interact effectively with business partners.
- A desire to work within a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environment.
