Associate – EMEA Corporate Capital Markets – London
An exciting opportunity to join the leading Corporate Capital Markets team operating across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Based in London, this team has a regional remit to provide specialist monetisation services to corporate and private equity clients with a particular focus on sale and leasebacks, funding of new facilities, asset repositioning and complex restructuring. The team has diverse skill sets designed to complement each other and provide a complete perspective to clients – current team members have real estate, accounting and actuarial qualifications that can be further enhanced from JLL’s global network of offices and sector specialists.
We act for a wide range of clients from private companies to the largest multinationals, participating in market sensitive enterprise-wide business strategies, delivering the real estate component of often whole-business changing initiatives. We operate at the highest level of ethical standards and integrity, reporting to senior financial and corporate leadership.
As part of JLL’s International Capital Markets platform the successful applicant will work alongside and collaborate with JLL colleagues across the region and will work closely with our regional asset and alternatives specialists as well as REIB and Debt teams.
The team works across all sectors and geographies and is part of global network of Corporate Monetisation specialists, collaborating with colleagues in Asia Pacific and the Americas. The role will provide exposure to all generic property types as well as the broadest range of specialist facilities in research, energy, supply chain and specialist manufacturing.
Desired skills and experience for this job -
- A solid grounding in the process of selling investment property including assessing value, preparing for market, promoting to buyer groups, managing bidding process and completing the sale.
- A complete understanding of the established forms of valuation methodology and the ability to create financial models that analyse all options and can be customised for corporate requirements
- The ability to understand corporate objectives and formulate solutions that address those objectives – each project is different so an open mind and an ability to ask the key questions and listen is essential
- Strong presentation skills, both to support business development and to present often complex solutions to clients – experience with corporate clients is useful but not essential, we are looking for candidates that have the capital markets skill sets but are ready to apply them to corporate and private equity clients.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills – the ability to build, manage and be an effective part of multi skilled and multinational project teams. The role is client facing from day one.
- Other desirable skills include basic knowledge of lease accounting standards and financial statements as well as critical lease terms.
- It is not essential to have broad experience of different asset classes or industry sectors – you will have the opportunity to learn this knowledge from your JLL colleagues and from our diverse range of clients.
What you can expect from us -
We succeed together and believe the best inspire the best, so we invest in supporting each other, learning together and celebrating our success. Every one of our projects is delivered through teamwork with colleagues, other specialists and above all with our clients – this is both rewarding and challenging but you can depend on the full support of your colleagues, as they will depend on you.
