Support on Audits, Filing, Local Business Tax, and other requirements:
- Trigger requirements (and collate) from SBO teams for permits (i.e., Barangay Clearance, Sanitary Permit, and Business Permit)
- Application and submission to LGU of all Permits
- Support Tax Advisor and Coordinator on informing SBO teams on changes in tax regulations and laws applicable to SBO Manila
- Support Tax Advisor and Coordinator on consolidation of requirements submitted by each SBO teams
- Fill—out and submission of business application forms
- Request for review and sign-off from SBO FO R&A Controllers team on Finance items
- Coordinate with Tax Advisor and Coordinator on tax values and computations
- Request for review and sign-off from Facilities on Floor Space and Head Count per Floor
- Submission of application to LGU (any findings, revisit with Tax Advisor and Coordinator and with responsible SBO team)
- Process Order of Payment with Shell
- Post Permit Copy
- Support on any audits or assessments:
- Liaising with representatives of Makati City Corporation on requirements of Audit (how, what, and in which format we should give the ask)
- Co-ordinating the deliverables to Makati City within the deadline
- Handling responses/queries/comments from representatives
- Extend support to Tax Advisor and Coordinator, by physically being available in the SBO Office when Makati City representatives come for inspection
VAT Refund Process:
- Filing of application and certification from SEC (non-resident foreign customers are not registered corporations in PH)
- Facilitate payment of Payment Assessment Form (PAF)
- Secure and print approved gate pass form for transmittal of boxes from SBO Manila to TFC
Where You Fit In
The Compliance Coordinator reports to the SBO Center Head of Manila / SBO Facilities Manager. The role will play a critical support and coordinator role, working closely with Tax Advisor and Coordinator, FO Process Teams (R&A Controllers, Cash Management, MIT PH, GSR, Contract Real Estate, AP) and Country Tax PH as well as externally with BIR and LGU. Maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders and the timely delivery requirements for tax compliance will be key to success in this role.
Skills & Requirements
Skills:
Familiarity with Tax Regulations: A strong understanding of local and national tax laws and regulations, including those specific to the BIR and Makati LGU.
Attention to detail: Precision in preparing and reviewing tax documents and filings
- Good verbal and written communication skills to explain tax concepts and regulations clearly
Interpersonal skills: Ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and regulatory bodies
Technical proficiency: Proficiency in using MS Office applications
Project Management: Skills to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent are often preferred.
- Relevant experience in tax compliance, financial analysis, or transaction management.
- Experience working with local tax regulations and compliance requirements, particularly with the BIR and Makati LGU.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work on several transactions simultaneously.
- Has established connections and contacts with various government agencies specially the BIR and Makati LGU
Integration is a key component of this role, so a good understanding of the organization and established networks across Shell PH and external regulatory bodies is paramount.
