Global Real Estate and Facilities’ (GREF) mission is to provide a safe, sustainable and efficient work environment to accommodate growth and enable employees to innovate and delight customers. GREF owns worldwide programs and services (incl real estate transaction, space and occupancy planning, capital investment program management and facility maintenance and operations), supporting ~300k corporate employees in ~369 corporate buildings across 60+ countries covering ~35MM square feet. Finance Operations Risk Intelligence (FORI) helps GREF function at optimal levels with appropriate levels of controllership.
Our FORI Inspections team is seeking a Senior Risk Manager to join our team. FORI provides risk, inspection and compliance services with a mission to identify risks, protect assets, design to-be controls, and as appropriate assist process owners with risk mitigation or remediation all while balancing optimal business function, customer delight and controllership. This role will be involved in the inspection functions. Activities will include conducting inspections end to end (planning, fieldwork, reporting), designing reports that enable our various business partners of various levels and remits to identify challenges, potential issues and highlight success. The candidate should have a strong background in process and understanding of business systems as data will come from disparate systems and processes. In addition, the role will be a liaison with GREF customer functions and/or geographies and work with other FORI team members to link risks with compliance and inspection functions as appropriate. This individual will manage high levels of ambiguity and will be self-driven, they will be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, be flexible with the ability to prioritize workloads and able to find path forward in difficult situations. Also, it is expected to have a strong eye for detail, be strategic and have strong influencing skills. This role will have regular interaction with multiple business units across Amazon and requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. The individual should have background in risk management, control design and mapping, or audit (operational or financial).
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
- 5+ years of relevant experience in internal/external audit (operational or financial) and/or inspections. Experience shall include: understanding of business systems, fieldwork (interviews, walkthroughs, etc.), testing, inspection reports, and mitigation plans, including reviewing and mapping of the controls against risks.
- Project management ability that shows how to organize, find solutions, and follow through to a successful conclusion
- Self-starter, ability to work in fast-paced environment and rapidly changing environment
- Analytical skills
- Fluent in English
- Microsoft Excel
