We are committed to hiring the best, most talented people in our industry; and we support them through professional growth, flexibility, and personalized benefits to manage life in and outside of work. What this job involves:
Our graduate programme will provide you with outstanding, first-hand experience while working towards a professional qualification. You’ll join us on either a 2 or 2.5 year trainee programme, working towards Chartered Surveyor status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), via the Residential pathway of professional competence.
Anyone with a good degree can join this programme, irrespective of degree discipline, as we’re focused on training you to becoming a qualified and well-rounded professional. However, if you do not have an RICS-accredited Real Estate degree, then you will need to complete a Master’s degree in Real Estate as part of the programme, alongside your normal work. This MSc will be fully funded by JLL.
During our graduate programme, you will work with some of the best residential specialists in the real estate industry. You’ll gain first-hand experience within our Residential business, which is a large and important part of JLL in the UK.
You will have at least three rotations in different teams, each of eight months’ duration, to gain the necessary experience to sit and pass the RICS’ Assessment of Professional Competence (APC). If you have an RICS-accredited real estate degree, you should be eligible to sit the APC after 2 years’ experience; but if you have to take the MSc route, it will take 2.5 years.
We have many different teams making up our residential business, each one providing different services to clients and requiring different skills of our graduates.
One of your three rotations will be in a valuation team, as valuation is a core, professional discipline. Our valuation business is hugely diverse, ranging from affordable housing to prime real estate; and covering build-to-rent, student housing and healthcare.
You will also have at least one rotation in a transactional team, which might be one of the following: estate agency; capital markets; corporate finance; land agency; new homes sales; or development consultancy.
We take a consultative approach as far as possible, so that you will have a say in which teams you work in, according to your skills and preferences; balanced with the requirements of the APC to gain a sufficiently broad experience, measured against specific competencies.
What your day-to-day will look like:
You’ll get involved in real work from day one, that will help clients to achieve their business and financial objectives. The work will vary, depending on the team you are in, but the following points give a flavour of what you’ll experience. You will:
visit properties to carry out inspections or conduct client viewings;
work with your team to prepare and deliver a wide range of work to clients – such as valuation advice, market research or agency services;
learn how to use various specialist software and data sources essential to the delivery of those services;
build relationships across our business, with colleagues and clients, to ensure we deliver a great service;
research and keep up to date with relevant market insight and property legislation that may impact our work; and
take part in regular training in business skills, technical knowledge, and professional development to support your growth.
What you’ll get from us:
We know that your unique backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives help us think bigger, spark innovation and succeed together.
At JLL, we want everyone to feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to achieve their full potential, and here are just some of the ways we’ll make that happen.

Training opportunities for everyone – No matter your experience or role, both our Early Careers and Learning teams will provide you with lots of ways to improve and develop your skills, from managing stakeholders and clients to report and pitch writing.
Surveying qualification support – You’ll take part in various workshops to build your knowledge and skills for your Chartership assessment. You will be designated a mentor who will support you throughout the programme
Dress for your day – Each day will be different, so we trust you to dress according to what you’re doing. For example, if you’re meeting clients then it’s important to dress smartly to reflect the great work we do, and we encourage you dress more casually when you don’t.
Competitive salary – As an accredited Living Wage employer, we are committed to paying you a wage that is fair and competitive to the industry we work in.
25 days holiday, plus bank holidays each year – We encourage you take breaks from work and hope you use this time to recharge regularly throughout the year.
2 paid volunteer days each year – We feel it’s important to give back to the communities around us. JLL set up events with specific charities and organisations which you can get involved with, such as our work with schools. Or you can use your days to support a charity or local organisation of your choice.
