What this opportunity involves:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Assistant Project Manager to join our team, working with one of our largest clients, Australia Post.

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and implementing minor works projects within our national portfolio, which includes a mix of owned properties and leased premises. This position requires knowledge and experience in project management, along with the ability to work independently and collaborate with senior team members.

An overview of the role:

  • Coordinate minor works projects under the guidance of a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager.
  • Ensure that works are completed in a timely manner and within budget.
  • Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and compliance relating to minor works programs.
  • Liaise and coordinate with service providers to resolve any difficulties on site promptly.
  • Manage contractor requests for access and contractor inductions.
  • Assist in the management of asset register changes, including building, plant, and equipment inspections.
  • Assist in the management of change requests and coordinate responses.
  • Proactively engage stakeholders to meet client's expectations.
  • Manage vendor procurement processes and ensure vendors deliver services according to agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with financial processes and delegated authority.
  • Ensure compliance with OH&S, environment, and risk management policies and regulations.
  • Seek opportunities to reduce costs and improve operational standards.
  • Coordinate and oversee minor works activities within client premises.
  • Follow established escalation and incident reporting procedures.
  • Adhere to the company's business conduct guidelines, procedures, and strategies.

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project coordination or management, preferably in the construction or real estate industry.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites, as required.
