JLL Design Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Manager to join our Columbus, OH studio. This individual will contribute to the growth of our business through detail-oriented, process-mindful and best-in-class project delivery for our clients.
The Technical Manager implements the successful management of the design solution across multiple projects, serving as the technical lead, producer and client liaison. This individual participates during the creative thought and ideation process, pulls together innovative solutions and serves as the quality assurance and control lead during all phases of the design process.

Responsibilities
- Owns key client relationships to ensure client satisfaction and building trust striving for long-term relationships
- Own the full lane of overseeing documentation produced by team, redlining drawings, coaching and mentoring team members on technical aspects of work products and quality control policies and procedures.
- Complete entire drawing set working with design team to bring concepts to life
- Develops and executes workflow coordination with team.
- Champion firm standards for project delivery, internal quality assurance and control and best-practices delivery.
- Collaborate with firm Architects of Record to assure work is produced to best-in-class standards, in-line with project design intent and translatable to buildable solutions.
- Serve as the internal “go-to” champion for code reviews, technical content and production of contract documents.
- Communicate concepts and ideas to others through written, drawn and verbal means.
- Ensures projects deadlines are met with overall accountability for client approvals
- Partners and coordinates with internal teams to ensure overall projects are complete, integrated and satisfies all requirements of contracts
- Build and manage a team of highly skilled and motivated documentation specialists
- Initiates and coordinates measures to resolve technical and engineering problems
- Ensures compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
- Maintain required documentation of all projects and drawings generated
- Ensure that proper back up procedures are carried out to reduce lost data
- Assist in the development of standards that will ensure document quality and accuracy
Requirements / Desired Skills
- Bachelor's degree in architecture (or equivalent)
- 10+ years of Architectural experience
- Previous project management experience
- Must have experience producing Design Architecture for retail and restaurant clients
- Highly proficient in the application of architectural design standards, practices, techniques, and concepts
- Exceptional in AutoCAD, Revit and SketchUp a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of building codes and accessibility guidelines.
- Must be a self-starter, motivated and is proactive in management of the process
- Must have a strong work ethic
- Solid time management skills
- Strong organization skills
- Excellent communication skills
Estimated total compensation ran for this position is:
100,000.00 – 150,000.00 USD per yearThe pay range listed is a total compensation range including bonus, if applicable. The provided range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data.
