Primary Purpose
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Exelon is seeking a Director of Digital Services to lead and optimize the digital service delivery ecosystem across our enterprise platforms. This role will be responsible for strategic and operational leadership of DevSecOps practices, middleware integration services (TIBCO, Oracle Fusion, Boomi, etc.), robotic process automation (UI Path), test automation frameworks, and system reliability engineering, including large-scale performance testing for high-impact scenarios such as simulated storm events. This leader will play a pivotal role in advancing the organization's digital maturity, driving efficiency, and ensuring resilient system performance. The Digital Solutions team is seeking a results-driven leader with deep expertise in modern digital service delivery, including DevSecOps, middleware integration, automation platforms, and system reliability engineering. This individual will play a critical role in driving the execution and optimization of our digital services ecosystem, leading high-performing teams, and ensuring all initiatives align with the utility's broader digital transformation goals and operational priorities.
Primary Duties
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead the enterprise adoption and continuous improvement of DevSecOps practices across development and infrastructure teams to enable operational efficiency and affordability outcomes. (25%)
- Oversee middleware platforms including TIBCO and Boomi to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure integration of enterprise systems. (20%)
- Drive strategic automation initiatives using test automation platforms, aligning automation capabilities with business outcomes. (20%)
- Ensure the design, execution, and analysis of large-scale system reliability tests (e.g., load testing for simulated storm conditions), delivering performance insights and system hardening recommendations. (10%)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, architecture, and business stakeholders to integrate digital services with core utility functions. (10%)
- Define and enforce enterprise standards, governance models, and continuous improvement practices for digital platforms and tools. (10%)
- Provide executive reporting on KPIs, platform reliability, delivery velocity, and risk mitigation strategies. (5%)
Job Scope
JOB SCOPE
This leader will oversee multiple domain-specific teams including DevSecOps, Middleware Integration, RPA, and Test Automation, with direct reports including managers and technical leads. Span of control includes approximately six direct reports and 25+ contractors/vendors across operations and delivery teams. . Decision-Making and Strategic Planning: Reports to the VP of Digital Solutions. Plays a key role in defining, executing, and iterating on digital transformation strategies across operational and customer-facing platforms. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Works closely with Engineering, Cybersecurity, Operations, Customer Experience, and Compliance teams, as well as external vendors and integrators. Budget Accountability: Responsible for ensuring all digital platform initiatives remain on-time and on-budget, with fiscal oversight of multimillion-dollar vendor and platform investments.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in IT leadership roles with direct oversight of DevOps, automation, and middleware platforms.
- Proven success in delivering digital services within a complex enterprise or regulated environment.
- Expertise in DevSecOps tools, practices, and governance.
- Strong knowledge of system integration platforms (TIBCO, Boomi), RPA (UI Path), and software testing.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- Experience in utilities or energy sector.
- Certifications in DevOps, Agile, or related frameworks.
- Experience in building and managing hybrid teams (internal and third-party).

- Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $168,800.00/Yr. – $232,100.00/Yr. plus an additional $50K in Long Term Incentive Plan annually
